Grief Peer Support Meetings

A place to share and process our grief while finding mutual support in our grieving and healing journeys.

Meetings are PEER support - people sharing their stories.  The meeting facilitator is not a psychologist, medical

professional, grief therapist or counselor.  The facilitator's responsibility is to conduct the meeting in a smooth,

orderly fashion; and is also a participant sharing their own experiences, memories, feelings and emotions.

Meetings are held during non-store hours ~ 4521-B West Napoleon in Metairie (near Clearview Pkwy)

and are one hour in length.  Please arrive on time.  Adults 18 and over only please.

(Guidelines and more information following the meeting schedule below.)

Contact us at MeetingsVDF@outlook.com or text us at 504-517-2988 with any questions.

Guidelines

No dues or fees for attendance.  A basket is at each meeting for cash donations (suggested amount: between $1 to $10), if you're so inclined, and are always appreciated.

Meetings are PEER support - just people sharing their stories. By sharing our own experiences, memories, feelings and emotions; we hopefully can connect with others and find mutual support in our grieving and healing processes.

Adults over 18 only.  We feel we do not have the adequate knowledge, experience nor education to provide the appropriate support for children in their grieving process. Also, it is important for participants to have no distractions (nor triggers) in the meetings.  Babies, toddlers and children are not allowed at the meetings.

Violet Dragonflies does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Each participant is expected to treat each other respectfully, and there will be no tolerance of the intolerant. Violet Dragonflies (its owner and representatives) has sole discretion in banning anyone from the meetings or property for ugliness - any bullying, harassing, threatening behavior.  Grief is challenging enough that KINDNESS and compassion are welcomed and very much needed.

Bottled water is available at each meeting.  You are welcome to bring your own drink (no alcohol) ~ a mocha latte, Smoothie, Stanley Cup, whatever.  Please no food allowed.  No alcohol allowed!
